Winter Solstice Ceremony | Yule Rebirth

Here in the Southern Hemisphere, Yule falls in June as we reach the Winter Solstice—the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It is the day of the “Standing-Still Sun,” a sacred threshold where the descent into the dark ends and the slow, steady return of the light begins.

This celebration is a ritual answer to uncertainty, signalling a time for protection, incubation, and the nurturing of the "Hidden Spark" within. As we reach the deepest point of winter, we move our focus from our outer actions to our inner essence, acknowledging that growth relies on this necessary slowing down.

Guided through ritual, storytelling, meditation, somatic movement, you are invited to shed the winter fatigue and make space for the solar child to be reborn within your own life. Together, we gather around the communal hearth to reaffirm the continuation of life and the persistence of the spirit through the great dark.

✨ What you’ll receive:

~ Opening Grounding: A seasonal attunement to the period.

~ Tea and ceremonial foods: A ritual of warming tea and seasonal ceremonial foods to honour the "Hidden God" and the sparks of joy found in the dark.

~ Storytelling: Traditional myths and prose about Yule.

~ Guided Meditation: Finding stillness and wisdom within the landscape of the deep ancestors.

~ Gentle movement and somatic exercises: A few gentle brief practices to physically release the mantle of winter and awaken the returning sun in the limbs (can be done seated if desired).

~ Other Rituals and take-home items: Bringing light and blessings through bespoke candles and native botanicals activities

~ Sacred Altar & Sound: A communal Yule altar and sound to wake the sleeping sun.

~ Held Space: Optional sharing in a held, supportive circle.
